The Master of Science in Aviation - Aviation Management is designed for adult working professionals in public, private or military aviation-related professions where advanced knowledge of aviation management is key to success in the program. Persons interested in a wide range of aviation management applications such as airport managers, airport operations officers, corporate investigative positions in government or private organizations would find this degree appropriate.
The degree is especially relevant for those who have earned bachelor’s degrees in aviation-related fields or those with non-aviation degrees who have gained aviation foundational knowledge through experience and now require more specialized aviation management knowledge. Individuals without current experience in aviation-related fields may be accepted into this program; however, AVT 5000 Airspace Safety may be required as a prerequisite.
The program goal is to prepare individuals for advanced leadership positions in public, private or military aviation sectors with specific skills and competencies in aviation management.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must have earned a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution (or international equivalent). The degree should be in an aviation-related discipline. Applicants without an aviation-related degree may apply provided they have acquired prerequisite aviation knowledge through relevant experience documented in a current résumé/CV. Additionally, applicants without an aviation foundation may qualify for admission to the program by successfully completing a non-credit, prerequisite online course in the summer preceding fall semester entry into the program.
