President’s Welcome

This institution was founded at the dawn of the space race as a scientific and technological university designed to educate the early engineers and technicians of the U.S. space program. Florida Tech relies on its unique history to inform who and what we are today—a comprehensive national research university that has provided interdisciplinary educational experiences to more than 70,000 prominent alumni, including five space shuttle astronauts, the first female four-star general in U.S. military history and a National Teacher of the Year.
