The Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership is a 33-credit online professional program that integrates the science of leadership with the professional development of leadership skills and competencies to develop outstanding organizational and community leaders. This interdisciplinary program incorporates lessons from the public and private sectors and across industries to develop students’ leadership competencies that can be applied in both their professional and personal lives.
Evidence-based. The program provides students with a foundational knowledge of leadership theories and research, based on classic and current leadership literature.
Practical. Individual and group projects teach students how to apply this knowledge to their current situation and the real world.
Interrelated. Leadership in organizations involves a complex system that includes the leader, followers, the organization and the environment. The courses in this program are designed to build upon one another to enable students to integrate and synthesize information across the complex leadership system and ultimately create new solutions to novel problems.
The program is ideally suited for working professionals, current managers and leaders who wish to enhance their leadership skills and improve their career prospects. Students will learn leadership skills they can immediately apply in their current role, as well as develop skills to reach the next level. The program can be completed in two years by taking one course at a time, throughout the program. With courses offered in an online format in an accelerated 8-week term, this program renders advanced education more accessible for working professionals.
Admission Requirements
Applicants to the master’s program in organizational leadership must have a bachelor’s degree. Applicants should submit a current résumé/CV and transcripts from all universities attended. The admissions process also considers cumulative undergraduate (and graduate if applicable) grade point averages, as well as professional work experience.
